About

In a thinly disguised ruse to wear Lycra this summer, James Roy, Lee Archer & John Bonafoux of Lateral Naval Architects have signed up to the Blue Marine Foundation (BLUE) epic, London to Monaco cycle event in September. Having had over 2 years to prepare since the cancellation of the 2020 and 2021 editions, the guys are now accelerating their quest to be race ready and muster up enough fitness to cycle 1025 km across 8 days.

But there is more to this story than just some mildly unfit men. Over the course of 4 editions, The London to Monaco event has raised a staggering £1.7 million for BLUE's global ocean conservation projects, engaged with 380 cyclists from 15 different countries and reaching 1.5 billion people through press and online media.
The London to Monaco event is making a real difference to the future of our oceans by supporting the Blue Marine Foundations mission to protect 30% of the world’s oceans by 2030 via the creation of marine reserves and delivering practical models for sustainable fishing. To date over 4 million square kilometres of ocean have been protected across the world.

Please join us in contributing to ocean conservation. Team Lateral are aiming to raise over £10000, alongside loosing over 40,000 calories each. All donations go directly to BLUE's global ocean conservation projects and your support, however big or small will make a difference.
