About

Our team , Rosemary, Alison, Helene and Julie are either near the sea, on it, under it and in it most days. We love the Sea. So as part of our challenge  and world record attempt we would like to raise as much money for the Blue Marine Foundation as possible. BLUE has developed a portfolio of projects that spans the globe. We are delighted that one of their projects is for Jersey where we are fortunate enough to live.

Jersey’s waters, with their kelp forests, seagrass and maerl beds, showcase some of the best shallow marine habitats in the British Isles. Many of these habitats are important blue carbon stores as well as supporting other marine life. The stunning biodiversity within these emerald waters is not just ecologically important, but sustains the livelihoods of local fishing communities.

However, much of Jersey’s waters remains unprotected and the impact on marine life unknown. BLUE is working in collaboration with the local fishing community, the Société Jersiaise Marine Biology section, Marine Resources and Jersey Marine Conservation to increase the protection of Jersey’s rich and complex marine environment.

We wish to support them in their endeavours as we don't want to lose the seas!
